The Miden'nir is a dark and stunted forest that circles the southern and
eastern edges of Portal City. Within the forest, it is populated by a tribe
of goblins. The goblins have been steadily suffering losses to Portal City's
adventurers and now roam the forest more rarely (to the relief of many
peasants). In the western part of the forest is an inn where a bard plays
regularly to the amusement of the inn's patrons. Some trails near the inn
have recently become dangerous due to a group of marauders who call
themselves the Black Riders.
